1. Overview
This policy explains what information the developer of Korea Live TV ("we") processes when providing the mobile application Korea Live TV / 실시간 TV (the "App"), why, for how long, and what rights you have.
We comply with the laws that apply where you live, including the Korean Personal Information Protection Act and the EU GDPR. The App is a channel guide that links to the official on-air pages published by broadcasters; it does not stream or store any broadcast itself.
2. Information we do not collect
- Account data — there is no sign-up or login. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or date of birth.
- Location — the App does not request location permission.
- Contacts, photos, files — no such permissions are requested.
- Payment data — the App has no in-app purchases.
3. Information collected automatically
The following data is processed automatically while you use the App.
| Data | Purpose | Processor |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID (Android), device info (model, OS version, language), IP address (approximate region), ad impression and click events | Serving ads, measuring performance, preventing invalid traffic (this funds the free App) | Google AdMob |
| Usage statistics (screen views, feature events), app version, device model, OS, language, a random app-instance ID | Understanding usage and improving the service | Google Firebase Analytics |
| On a crash: stack trace, device state (memory, OS version), app version | Improving stability | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| Push notification token and topic subscriptions — only if you turn alerts on | Delivering broadcast alerts. Topic-based; our server does not store individual tokens. | Google Firebase Cloud Messaging |
| IP address, app package name and version, request time (server access logs) | Delivering the channel list, schedules and rankings; incident response and security | Our server |
| Channel-open events (channel name and link) — no personal identifiers | Computing the "Trending TOP 10" ranking | Our server |
4. Information you provide (optional)
- In-app contact form — the category, your message, the app version, and a hashed device identifier used only to prevent abuse (the raw value is never sent) are transmitted to our server. If you include contact details for a reply, they are used only to reply.
5. Data stored only on your device
Favorites, recently watched channels, custom links, and settings such as theme, tab order and alerts are stored only in the App's local storage and are never uploaded. Uninstalling the App deletes them.
6. Broadcaster pages and other third-party sites
Opening a channel loads the broadcaster's official web page in the in-app browser or your external browser. Any processing on those pages (cookies, sign-in, ads) is governed by the broadcaster's own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
7. Advertising and consent
- Ads are served through Google AdMob and may be personalized or non-personalized.
- In the EEA, UK and other GDPR regions a consent form is shown at first launch, and you can change your choice at any time under Settings › "Ad privacy options".
- To opt out of ad personalization: Android Settings › Google › Ads › reset or delete your advertising ID.
8. Third-party privacy policies
- Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging): policies.google.com/privacy
- Firebase data processing: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- AdMob ad partners: support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903
9. Retention
- Server access logs are kept only as long as needed for incident response and security, then deleted.
- Channel-open counts are kept only as aggregated statistics without personal identifiers.
- Contact-form messages are kept for handling and service improvement and deleted promptly on request.
- Automatically collected data is retained according to the processor's (Google's) policies.
10. Your rights
- Reset or delete your advertising ID — Android Settings › Google › Ads.
- Change ad consent (GDPR regions) — App Settings › Ad privacy options.
- Stop notifications — turn off broadcast alerts in the App, or revoke the notification permission in system settings.
- Delete on-device data — uninstalling the App removes favorites, history and all local data.
- Delete contact-form data — email us (below) and we will verify and delete it.
- Residents of the EEA, UK, California and other regions with data-protection laws may also request access, correction, deletion or restriction; contact us at the address below.
11. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (under 14 in Korea) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. International transfers
Advertising, analytics, crash reporting and push notifications may be processed on Google servers outside your country (including the United States). Google applies safeguards required by law, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
13. Changes to this policy
Updates are posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes are announced in the App.
